Seeing the news articles talking about CHC, i just feel strongly, that God is taking us from tradition into transition. Like Cheryl said, this is a test for us, of the faith and love we have for God. Let us CHC members show the devil what we're made of! New levels, new devils. But I belive that as we stand united, even though we walk through the waters, we will not drown. Even though we walk through the fire, we will not be burnt.

Nothing will be able to take us down. Lets put our trust in God! For Jesus said, upon this rock i will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. So why then, should we worry? But instead, lets overcome this obstacle, stronger and better like never before.

hey n340s, its been pretttttty long since we last updated this page, but now we're reviving it again! weeeeeee~

AC has just ended and you may have heard the news recently. and i just feel that this pretty timely and i think God really sent this test to test us. all fruitful messages that we have received during ac, we can all apply to keep ourselves firm in our faith and to keep on going even if people are throwing really hurtful comments. i've seen people's updates that they would be keeping our church in prayer and some even initiated to fast for a period of time and this motivated me to take a step up to build this fiery wall against the devil.

This is a test that will bring us all to a whole new level. everything that happened till this very previous second happened for a reason. and i believe in God that we will conqure this so victoriously and who knows, this might just be an open door to many lives to come. i mean, WHO KNOWS. God's pretty surprising and He works wonders!

And other than that! I REALLY THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for making my walk with God so fruitful and loving and memorable! thank you for motivating me, encouraging me and loving me! its because of you guys that I will not give up everything that's happened this far and im looking forward for more memories with you lovely peoplee, and really wanna serve our awesome God together!

Asia Conference was a blast! I don't know how many of you felt so, but i was really blessed by the sermons shared throughout the different services. Especially meaningful for me was the last service by Dr. AR Bernard when he shared about how it is the way you look at your situation which decides its outcome, just like the prodigal son, from viewing his circumstance as a situation of poverty into a situation of abundance and then instantly converting his problem of financial destitution to a life of abundance.

We can all look at our problem in a postive way too, just like the prodigal son! Whatever difficult times that we are going through, be positive! Just by the way we view our circumstance, we can change the outcome! And then came the 'finishing touch' by Pst Kong, to be a model citizen; happiness, prosperity and progress! The Cultural Mandate.

What a great conference, what a great ending. I will always be happy regardless of whatever obstacle or problem i am going through. I will always be prosperous even through difficult times. I will always progress and level up in everything and anything, of course, including my spiritual maturity!

Anyway, I can see that most of you were really spiritually stretched during this period of Asia Conference from 26-30th May, serving in your different ministries almost everyday. As I look at you, I see N340eans pushing themselves so hard, having to endure the few hours of sleep everyday, standing under the hot sun while serving, and always coming faithfully to Expo to serve aside from their already busy schedules, always stepping out of your comfort zone to serve His Kingdom.

Even for days that u don't serve, you get up so early to join the long queue outside so as to be able to get into Hall 8 to worship God. All this tells me one thing. Truely, like how the song says, 'Make me a servant, my heart's ever true. Clinging to the cross, I'll follow you'. This is what i see in you all. The wholehearted willingness to be a servant for Jesus Christ, Clinging on to the cross no matter how rough or tough the road gets. You guys don't know it, but seeing how excited you are in praising and serving God, and in giving your all for the kingdom of God, over all your fatigue, tiredness, busy schedules, or parental objections, really just act as an encouragement for me.

You guys prove the fact that for Jesus, nothing is enough to make me say, 'I am tired', nothing is enough to make me say, 'I give up!', NOTHING will ever be able to stop me from serving My God.Because of JESUS, even the weak will say, 'I am STRONG'! So, I just want to say a big Thank you to all you guys. Thank you for being an encouragement, Thank you for being my motivation. Thank you for showing me what it really means to be a servant of God.

Putting it simply, looking at N340, i see a reflection of Jesus. With all that, I am proud to say, This is N340. This is my cellgroup. This is my greatest blessing from God. I am looking forward to Asia Conference 2012, IN SUNTEC! :)

Hey all! Those who went for the 9-13 feb prayer meeting, 2 weeks ago, i'm sure was really blessed right! For me, i felt that the prayer meeting was really awesome. Going to jwest church to pray early in the morning just made the rest of the day great. Normally if we were to wake up so early in the morning, we'll definitely take a nap as soon as we can right! but somehow God's strength was in me, and he gave me energy to last the whole day not feeling tired!

The week going to prayer meeting has also strengthened my spiritual walk with God. Praying became more of a delight than a duty. Not only was a blessed throughout that week, but my family was blessed too. It's awesome how whenever we serve God, he doesn't let anything bad happen to us.

During the first day of PM, Monday, when i told my parents i'm going to prayer meeting, my dad told me not to be crazy and then my mum was like no nonsense, no going. But still, i felt in my heart that i had to go for it no matter what and it doesn't matter if i just get scolding from them for the next 4 days of prayer meeting as i'm sure that this is a chance for me to seek God wholeheartedly and also to have breakthroughs in my spiritual walk.

Thank God i had the 'don't care, just go for the PM' attitude because when i woke up on tuesday, my parents didn't even scold me! What's more, my dad started following me to prayer meeting from wednesday onwards. My mum followed from thursday onwards, and even my bro who doesn't go to a church, came on friday :) My dad even gave me money to go to the PM on monday and tuesday, and we cabbed there for the whole week. Now, my whole family has a personal prayer book :) Praise God! And the blessings didn't just stop here, the church blessed us with a 5 dollar starbucks voucher. hahaha :)

constantly being reminded. And the reminders keep your walk with God a more pleasent one.

We are all busy with studies, sometimes we tend to get so busy that we forget that God is always first in our life. We tend to put things before God and we don't even realise it sometimes. But we do know that we have to make time out for prayer, to sing him praise and thank Him for the wonderful little matters that made your day.

As it is just the beginning for 2009, lets pray for new revelations, visions and breakthroughs. Lets keep ourselves focus on what God has for you this year and work towards it to glorify our Lord! :)

Have you thought of being a teacher, a designer, a dancer or preacher?
Many of us have big dreams of what we want to be in the future and many have start to pursue their dreams now.
Now,think about it.
Are you doing what God has called you to do?
Sometimes we think that we are good at doing certain things and thought that it is our calling.
John Bevere shared with us an impactful message on Saturday which make the congregation to reflect on what we are doing.
"We will not be judged on what we did, but rather on what WE HAVE FAILED TO DO"

A lady met God in heaven and said to Him " I've been a great preacher and has brought more than 30,000 souls into Your kingdom"
God looked through her book of life and questioned her "A preacher? Have I not called you to be a writer so that your words can touch the hearts of the people and even more lives will be save?"
God was disappointed with her though she have save thousands lives but she has failed to do what God has called her to do.

Some will ask "But how do I know my calling? How do I know that what I'm doing now is my calling?"

3 important keys to know your callings.
#1 Seek God earnestly.
Keep praying and ask God about it. Allow Him to speak to you or show you.
#2 Be planted in a local church. (Most of us are already planted)
Serve the church(ministry) and fellowship with cg members!
#3 Not be entangled.

Its the LAST DAY of 2008! Most of you people are gonna start school soon right? :) I still have like 3 more months, and its gonna be army for me. :( December really went by very quickly. Before u know it, its already the end of 2008. As Pst Kong shared the word last sunday, i began to ask myself, was 2008 the best year yet? It was the year when i had my A levels, the year of studying. I recalled many happy moments that happened in 2008, but many other things that i didn't like also occurred, especially nearing the end of 2008. However, Thank God, last sunday we had that A4 paper. Our old sins, old defeats, old conflicts, old victories. All crushed and gone forever! Though many things might have happened to make our 2008 not turn out the way we want it to be, lets forget them, and look forward to 2009! Dont nurse it, Dont curse it, Dont rehearse it. Release it and God would disperse it! God is going to take us from glory to glory so lets all get ready for the year 2009 which is going to be the best year yet! :)

I've got something to share!!!!!!!!!!
a few minutes ago, this two little girls stopped by my house, one older than the other and they are both sisters. they were each holding a bouquet of flowers; handmade flowers. the younger girl started asking me if i wanted to buy the flowers because their mum is (if im not wrong) currently in a hospital and is suffering from some kind of cancer.

and she went on, that they are trying to raise money by selling these flowers and they are handmade by paper tissues and i was really touched.

they girl talking was panting and they actually asked for $10 per bouquet. but i was really broke. :P so they said, we'll sell it to you at $5 instead. so, i went searching my wallet. i wanted to give them Cambodian currency but thank God there was 2 $2 notes. and i went digging for my coins to make it up to $5.

when i went to the gate, the older sister was asking "Do you like the red ones or the blue ones?" in a rather gleeful manner. They just melted my heart and i replied the red ones. Actually i didnt know, both looks the same. Haha. I passed them the money and the sister smiled with her arms outstretched with the flowers. The sisters said: "God bless you!"; replied "God bless you too!" and left.

they were like angels!!!! :)

as promised. gonna share w ya all bout our jamiyah home outreach last sat :)

it was loads of fun! our cg prepared a game for the elderly - MUSICAL BALLOON. the elderly were really enthusiastic! some even sang melodiously for forfeit! :)

aft the outreach. we went to a nearby coffee shop to lunch. interestingly, the coffee shop is called 'JURONG CAFE'.

reminder: we were at tampines.

brilliant xinying genuinely & innocently suggested that perhaps JURONG is the owner's name.

...

so.

as a polite response i said,

'where got ppl name themself jurong one?

can u imagine ur name is TAMPINES TAN XIN YING..

u can have tt as ur baptism name.

then pst can say

'TAMPINES TAN XIN YING,

I BAPTISE U IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.' '

aand there u have it.

the birth of tampines tan.

even though the mystery of 'jurong cafe' was never solved, we had the honor of naming our dear frd tampines tan. and its origin is not a mystery at all. :)

also,

another weird thing happened to xinying. she seemed to be the highlight of the day huh.

on our way to expo, at city hall interchange, when lots of ppl alighted...

there was an empty seat near us.

rather rare as its peak hour.

THEN,

an elderly man with white hair tapped xinying on the shoulder and OFFERRED her the empty seat!!!

???

no one understood why.

and the uncle was quite persistent. he asked xinying 2-3 times...

hmm.

NEXT UP!

OUR HAIR EXTENSION TRIP!

as we had 3 hours to kill before 530pm svc @ expo, we decided to go far east to get hair extension.

(apparently the hottest new trend in town)

really cheap.

only $1 per strand.

so with our new look, we headed to expo for a wonderful STONY svc.

(those who went svc would know why)

so tts all for e second post in my entire life.

Yo ppl! Cg was great today man! I liked it. (: We must be the ones who share the GOOD NEWS to all the ppl out there, haha. And those videos of people on how God changed their lives were equally great. I'm sure it'll touch our friend's hearts. Lets all jiayou for the My hope project next week. Lets all be creative and come up with ways to make our christmas party fun and exciting! And lets all be enthusiastic in reaching out to our friends because our friends are gonna get saved this year! I'm excited :D

finalllllyy...... i actually figured how to post something. all u ppl are like soooo blog savvy. e old me is trying to catch up. :(

well. for the very first blog post in my entire life (dont laugh, i can see u), i want to thank all of those who've made this blog possible!! and thanks to all u readers as well! :) cheerios!

members of n340 will take turns to post about their thoughts, feelins, revelations on a weekly basis (hopefully more frequent as we all get used to this).

also, i will gladly post about the silly things that happened along the way as well! :) of cos. this is at the expense of myself. my silly acts will probably be very blown out of proportions by my dear members :) so a reminder for u. do take those posts with a pinch or maybe even lesser.

In my little conversations with God, sometimes I ask a question I believe every one of us has asked before, “God, why is there so much pain in this world?”

The thing is, I never do get a proper answer.
Or rather, even an answer at all.

I asked that question again tonight,
when I received the troubling news about the sudden passing of a friend’s grandfather.

The truth is, living in this world,
there are many questions we have that will probably never get answered in our lifetime.

We will never know why newborns take in their first breath and
never do get to open their eyes to see this world.

We will never know why accidents happen,
and we witness the wretched pain in the eyes of the victims.

We will never know why life sometimes seems to rob us of the things we hold so dear, and so cruelly runs off with our hopes and dreams.

Why our loved ones fall sick and pass on, why those around us stumble and fall, why we ourselves fail and crumble to our knees.

And we will never know why there are times that we have to go through tormenting pain, a wrenching of the heart, and an utter brokenness that no one really understands.

I guess that’s when we have to stop asking the endless questions, and instead ask ourselves what do we know.

And the thankful, and indeed fortunate thing is, we know have a God who cares, gives, and loves us more than we love ourselves.

And we are able to take heart, and be of good cheer in the understanding that He knows when you are hurting, when you are beaten and bruised, when you have no hope for living, and in spite of all this, has chosen to stay by your side.

One day when I get to meet with Him, I shall ask him all the questions I haven’t managed to find an answer to, but in the meantime, I want to be able to love my parents, loved ones, members and friends more and more each day. And I want to be able to, if it is in any way possible, lessen the pain of the people I know, and will meet in future.

My heart just breaks when I see people cry. Everyone deserves to be loved. And I pray that You’d use me Lord, to wipe away tears, because somebody’s crying not too far from here.

For all who are reading this, may the following lyrics to a song bless your heart, and may you have a week filled with love. And if it is possible, you may insert your name and replace ‘the Church’ in the ending stanzas of the song, because He wishes you to be stronger than you think you are.
